Welcome ...

... to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, located in the heart of Lakeview, Chicago.

At St. Peter's, you will find a diverse parish filled with people from all walks of life — gay, straight, married, partnered, single, young, and not-so-young.

Come in and you'll experience transformative worship rooted in ancient liturgy, friendly people who reflect the values and demographics of Lakeview, and good coffee.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey — doubting, full-of-faith, or in between — you are welcome to join us at worship in the Anglo-Catholic tradition.

120 Years in Lakeview

We are the church with the bright red doors on Belmont just west of Broadway.

St. Peter's parish was formed in 1888, and has served the Lakeview neighborhood in the present church since 1895.

We are home to Red Tape Theatre, youth sports groups who use our gym, and 12-step groups that meet in our Parish House. Parishioners help serve meals at North Side Housing and Supportive Services and support Lakeview Pantry with donations and food.

We invite you to join us as we explore new ways to serve our neighbors in Lakeview.

Wednesday Night Forum

The Wednesday Night Forum Lenten series has a different theme each week.

March 17: Anti-Semitism in the Holy Week Gospels. Throughout history, some of the worst violence to our Jewish brothers and sisters has been committed during our Holy Week, with the Gospels used as ammunition. Our seminarian, Lora Walsh, will lead us through the Holy Week Gospels, and help us unpack these very full texts.

Wednesday Night Forum

The Wednesday Night Forum Lenten series has a different theme each week.

March 10, Atonement theory, the question of God's Forgiveness of human sin through the crucifixion of Jesus.

Wednesday Night Contemplative Eucharist

Come and be still, surrounded by candle light, incense, and ancient liturgy. This liturgy will offer spaces for silence and meditation, Taize chant and a simple Eucharist each Wednesday night at 7:15 PM.
